Inflation Increases to Asylum, Parole, and TPS Fees Apply to Filings Postmarked On or After Oct. 16, 2026

On Oct. 1, 2026, DHS published "Fiscal Year 2027 Inflation Adjustment to H.R. 1 Immigration Fees," 91 FR 62540 (FR Doc. 2026-20187). The adjusted fees apply to filings postmarked on or after Oct. 16, 2026. USCIS rejects filings that arrive without the correct fee.

Fees that increase: the annual fee for a pending asylum application rises from $102 to $105; an initial work permit (Form I-765) for an asylum applicant, for parole, or for TPS rises from $560 to $570; the Form I-821 TPS application rises from $510 to $520; and the immigration parole fee rises from $1,020 to $1,050.

Fees that do not change under this adjustment: the $100 fee for an initial asylum application (Form I-589); the $275 work-permit renewal fee for asylum applicants and the $280 renewal fees for parole, TPS, and re-parole; the $250 Special Immigrant Juvenile fee; and the $24 Form I-94 fee.

These are the amounts stated in the Federal Register notice. Check the current USCIS fee schedule (Form G-1055) for your form immediately before you file, and ask us if you are unsure which fee applies to your situation.
